Don’t Rush Your Process….

“Things will happen little by little”. This is how God dealt with the children of Israel. Once I learned the characteristics of God, that’s when I understood Him better. Though He is supernatural, and can do anything, He’s into a developmental process because there are lots of other things to consider. He makes rational decisions. There are lessons that we must learn in order for us to not repeat the same mistakes in the Promised Land.
Have you ever had to repeat the same lesson over and over again? If you didn’t, I did. I know it gets frustrating, but the lesson must be revisited until we get it! God has had me repeat a class so many times, that I had gotten sick of myself. For some lessons, it wasn’t even only a class. It was a semester, or even a whole grade. Half the time, it wasn’t God taking me through the lessons again, it was my bad choices taking me back through it.
Very often, I’d look at others and wonder why I was hitting a ceiling. So, to ensure that I was on task and up by the next one, I begin doing things that God wouldn’t do. I called myself filling in for God. Excuse my vernacualr but, “Where the do that at?” In result, I found myself in a financial bind, have wasted time, gotten my heart broken, or the usual things that could happen when stepping out of God’s will or by simply being in a hurry. When we are in a hurry on the road, in our cars, accidents happen along the way because we are only focused on the destination and not the traffic, bad driver on the road, or the cops waiting to stop us.
Proverbs 26:11
As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly.
Some things we revisit because we are in a silly place. I learned to no longer compare myself to others because it wasn’t the wisest things to do. We often only see the good parts of someone else’s process.
Scriptures to Consider:
Exodus 23:29
But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you.
Exodus 23:30
Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

Hearing The Voice Of God

Get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the message God has planted in your hearts, for it is strong enough to save your soul.” JAMES 1:21 (NLT)

Get rid of anything that is dark or causes your mind to be clouded. I’ve interpreted this as get rid of anything that isn’t from heaven. Release anything that causes you to be distracted from the honest message that your soul, and heart, carries because that is your answer. That is your purpose. It could be the voice of God. For a long time, I’d disregard the uncomfortable feelings or intuitions that were “strong enough to save my soul”. My soul was telling me to say less with certain people, do more with this, end that relationship, don’t spend that, return that bag because you’ll need that money for later, call that person and apologize, be quiet and just listen, don’t overthink it, leave it alone, etc. These heart sent messages were all unctions that have to do with my purpose.
God has already set purpose in your heart. (Ecc. 3:11) Your purpose, and what you feel you were born to do, will save you time in this life and the life after this one. When you walk with the Lord, we begin making decisions that match our purpose. So, Don’t fight it! Don’t resist it! Before you know it, time will have passed you, and you’ll realize that your life has felt like you’ve been in a belly of a whale if you don’t go with it. Go with what? God’s plan or that strong message in your heart that can save your soul. (Jonah 1:17)

We say, “God doesn’t speak to me..” but sometimes God doesn’t always have full blown conversations with us. Sometimes it’s a truth that’s already around us. It could be a truth that we don’t want to accept or something we want to hold onto. So, I’ve had to make a decision of if I want to be free or to just live the lie? Or things that are forced? Am I going to live a life that I’ve tailored made? Or accept that I’m an invention with a purpose and the life that God has planned for me is the best route?

So, what’s tugging at you? What haven’t you surrendered to the Lord? What part of your life is in the back of your mind saying “give me to Jesus”? Go for it. In this season, God wants peace and for your ascend.

I’m Not Settling

Last night’s service was something special! We had a guest speaker, Pastor Matthew Brown, and he mentioned not settling for anything less than what we’ve been praying for. So many times life hands us back a conglomeration of our bad decisions and just what happened in life.
Sometimes life can get us to a place where we are just like, “You know what, I’ll just accept this…” “It’s been this long and it hasn’t happened yet…so, I’ll take it.” Take what? The idea that we’ve come up with of it never happening? God doesn’t have it so that we simply take whatever comes with the wind. He gives scriptures to life and he constantly reminds us of the authority we have.
The speed of sound is about 767 MPH. Consider how long it may take you to drive to work versus you SPEAKING “Today will be a good day” or “I’m getting this promotion”. It usually takes us 10-30 minutes to get to work. You have the power and permission to send a word to your situation before you get there. So, what was your dream that you’ve now laid down because life and time made it seem as though it wasn’t impossible? What has life given you, that you’ve willingly accepted that was also contrary to what God has promised? Pick it back up! The dream! Pick it up! Use the scriptures and speak to your future and trust that God is there!

Ways To Protect Your Peace

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” COLOSSIANS 3:15 (KVJ)
In this space that we are entering, I’ve learned that peace is everything. So many things are pulling at our attention. So many people are needing our time. Distractions are assigned to knock us out of purpose. Emotions are othen causing us to make non-qualitative decisions. The lesson for the new year is, “my decisions determine the quality of my life”. Being very careful with who’s in my space and the underlying tones or messages must be clear and not under anything. Being in a space of where now, I deal with what’s on the subconscious and not just at the forefront. But doing what I need to ensure that I’m operating as a whole individual and pulling all of the pieces of me, that I’ve left behind, together again. Lately, I’ve decided to have family and friends who are safe filters and voice of reason. If the room is quiet, I’m not making it my job to fill the room with noise or sparking empty conversations with whom I’m not sure of. Praying with the heart of repentance and removing the weight of offense. Asking questions for clarity. And before responding, I pause, I ask myself will this feeling pass, or is there more to it? I’ve promised myself to be fair but to keep peace.
As growing individuals, a blur can be created in passing conversations because we respond from inner unsettlement from previous situations but respond to the present from that undiscussed place. However, lately I’ve been saying what I mean with respect of others, and making sure there is no room for misinterpretation of what I’ve said or what I’ve heard. Am I my brother’s keeper? Yes I am. It is my pleasure to be sure that you feel loved and respected when dealing with me. In this season, my peace is your peace. No, this isn’t dragging out unnecessary conversations. But it’s saying what I mean, saying less, being an active listener, and doing what I must to keep my peace and the peace of others. Giving the apology so that the issue isn’t weighing on me when it’s time to sleep. My peace and space of tranquil is where God speaks and when strategy is revealed. My peace is everything. Go! 2019 #peaceIsTheMotto #faithIsTheDrive Colossians 3:15

Who’s The Boss

When you understand that you can’t control EVERYTHING, you’re in the right space. There will be conversations about you, that probably should include you, but all you can do is own your space, have your voice, and speak when it’s time and allow that to control what it can. Use your authority wisely. You don’t have to throw your weight around for people to know who calls the shots. They’ll see once you say it, and things shift according to what you’ve said. Gracefully own your power. Queen Esther didn’t throw her weight around she used prayer, wisdom, and strategy. Even when Mordecai told her off, she could’ve snapped and said, “I’m in a leading role and I don’t have to listen to anything you’ve said.” But she basically said, “I’ll get back to you” rehearse this, practice and be slow to say the yes! Have the spirit of humility and understand that your getting back to them isn’t a “Boss Move” but it’s a “wise move” with a Christ like approach and purpose driven. After reading this, find purpose in everything you do. If you don’t find purpose in it, then release yourself from it. Save your time and please the Father. There’s power in purpose. When you’re clear of it, you’re a forced to be reckoned with. Walk in that!!!
